Semi-permanent Make-up

Semi-permanent makeup, sometimes called cosmetic tattooing involves delicately adding hypo-allergenic pigments in a range of shades to the outermost layers of your skin, most commonly the eyebrows and eyes.
We all want to look good and feel great. Looking good helps you feel confident and ready to face the day, many of us struggle to find the time to apply perfect make-up every morning.
Semi-permanent make-up offers an ideal solution, giving you defined eyebrows and wide-awake eyes morning, noon and night. You will save time on your beauty routine every day.
Semi-permanent make-up is a completely safe and effective form of cosmetic tattooing and works by implanting pharmaceutical-grade pigments of your choice into the chosen treatment area. You may hear the treatment described as ‘Permanent’ makeup and this is because the colour is being introduced into the upper dermal layer of skin and although the pigment will fade over time, it will often remain in the skin even if not completely visible.
Our treatments will give you a natural look that can last years, saving you valuable time and money.

Frequently Asked Questions:

WHO CAN HAVE PERMANENT MAKE-UP?
Most people over the age of 18 years desire a soft, natural enhancement to their appearance. During your consultation, we will discuss with you specifically which treatments will suit you best taking into account your expectations, facial features, and skin tone and choosing pigment colours to complement your lifestyle.

DOES IT HURT?
This can vary from person to person and depending on individual pain thresholds and the procedures performed. Some clients report a slight scratchy feeling and others say they feel hardly anything at all. Every effort is made to minimise the discomfort for the client and prior to the procedure, before and during the procedure creams are applied to help minimise any discomfort.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?
After the treatment, you may experience some mild swelling and redness. This will subside between 2 – 4 hours. Most normal activities can be resumed immediately after the procedure. The treated area will look considerably darker about 30-50% for a few days after and as the skin heals and rejuvenates, the colour will soften and lighten, revealing a more natural desired look.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Depending on the area, the procedure will take from one to two hours to complete. 2-3 hours are given for each appointment to allow for careful consideration of shape and colour.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO HEAL?
A few days following the procedure, a light crust will form over the treated area and may feel quite itchy. During this time the area will look darker, but over the next few days, this crust will flake off and is common for the colour to lighten by up to 50%. You will receive a healing balm which should be used 4 times daily on the treated area for 7-10 days. You will need to avoid water on the treated area for the duration of the healing, including sweat, so it is advised to limit gym use for around a week after your treatment.
